ClassGraphic A comprehensive study of the Civil War, with recorded lectures presented by Dr. Gary Gallagher of the University of Virginia, who has published several prize-winning books on the subject, has appeared on A&E’s Civil War Journal and has testified before congress on Civil
War battleground preservation. More than just a simple review, this course will look at the battles and Generals in significant detail. The fall term class will begin with an examination of the causes that led to secession and conclude in the uncertain days of fall 1863. Part II is scheduled for spring term.
