ClassGraphic Prerequisite: AIL 102 or CW 102 or consent of instructor. This course is the third course of a three-term sequence of study of the American Indian language, Chinuk Wawa, at the first-year level. Students will achieve beginning listening, oral, cultural, and literacy competency. Determination of competency and instruction will conform to tribeal, state, and college criteria. Language instruction will include activities, dialog, and text analysis. Objectives: Stduents will (1) become proficient in the sound system of Chinuk Wawa to be able to (2) converse in a variety of common everyday settings using sentences, questions, and structures presented in classs. Emphasis is placed on daily speaking, more complex writing, reading and listening of Chinuk Wawa and learning about the cultures of the people who spoke and still speak the language.
